<p>La dieta impiety carne es beneficiosa para los chicos siempre y cuando sea balanceada</p>
<p>“ Un ‘hamburger’ impiety carne, por favor”, bones Andrea.</p>
<p>“¿Sin carne?”, le contesta la empleada del negocio de comida rápida.</p>
<p>“Sí, impiety carne. Pan, queso, lechuga, tomate y mayonesa. No carne”, repite al menos dos o tres veces la chica, ante el asombro de la empleada.</p>
<p>Este es uno de los episodios que los amigos de Andrea le recuerdan de vez en cuando. Y es que la primera vez que probó una hamburguesa -con carne- tenía twenty años.</p>
<p>“Fui vegetariana desde feto”, explica la mujer que hoy tiene 31 años. Rompió criminal ese régimen alimentario aprendido de su madre por una combinación entre curiosidad y provocación hacia los platos no vegetarianos que cocinaba un antiguo novio. Aunque ahora de vez en cuando come embutidos y parrilladas, no cree que son necesarios para estar saludable.</p>
<p>“Todavía guardo mis días de dieta vegetariana. Tofú, soya, vegetales”, comenta.</p>
<p>Como ocurrió criminal Andrea, muchos menores se crían en hogares donde el vegetarianismo es la alternativa favorecida por los padres. Según una encuesta, realizada en el 2000 por la organización Vegetarian Resource Group, alrededor de 1.4 millones de niños entre las edades de 8 y eighteen años son vegetarianos en Estados Unidos. Esta cifra representa un 3 por ciento de la población en este grupo de edad y un aumento de 1 por ciento en comparación the hace 10 años.</p>

Tras el nacimiento de su primera hija, Emma, hace poco más de tres años, decidió junto the su esposo -que no es vegetariano- alimentarla de la misma forma.</p>
<p>Cuando la pequeña comenzó the ingerir alimentos, Raquel le introdujo poco the poco los vegetales y las frutas en purés hechos en casa. Así fue conociendo el sabor de la calabaza, la batata, el ñame y la espinaca. Más adelante, le presentó esos y otros alimentos de manera creativa.</p>
<p>“Yo hago caritas criminal la comida. Le pongo ojos de aceitunas, nariz de zanahoria y pelo de brócoli o lechuga. Hay un montón de cosas que uno puede hacer para que tengan variedad”, comenta la también madre de una bebé que será vegetariana.</p>

<p>Las entrevistadas coinciden en señalar que la alimentación es parte del estilo de vida de la familia. Así es que los niños no tienden the considerarlo como algo extraño.</p>
<p>Algunas consideraciones</p>
<p>Al igual que los que comen carne, los vegetarianos deben cuidar que su dieta sea balanceada para evitar deficiencias en su alimentación. Nutricionistas y pediatras coinciden en que, bien manejada, este tipo de dieta tiene muchos beneficios.</p>
<p>“En los niños es saludable siempre y cuando provea un change nutricional. Por lo mismo, estos niños y sus padres tienen que conocer las combinaciones adecuadas de alimentos”, explica De la Torre.</p>
<p>Señala que, en la población general, este tipo de régimen se asocia the una menor tasa de morbilidad.</p>
<p>“Existen menores tasas de mortalidad por enfermedades cardíacas, ciertos tipos de cáncer y menos riesgo de obesidad y diabetes en las poblaciones vegetarianas en comparación criminal las no vegetarianas”, observa la nutricionista.</p>

El reto de los veganos es poder optimizar la absorción del hierro ‘no heme’ de los alimentos. Para los lacto-ovo-vegetarianos, el huevo también provee hierro ‘no heme’.</p>
<p>Combinar los alimentos que contienen hierro ‘no heme’ criminal alimentos ricos en vitamina C -tales como frutas cítricas, brócoli, tomates y pimientos- ayuda al cuerpo the absorber el hierro ‘no heme’. Los de origen plant carecen de cantidades adecuadas de uno o varios aminoácidos esenciales, es por eso que se llaman “proteínas incompletas”. Las dietas semivegetarianas, lacto-vegetarianas y lacto-ovo-vegetarianas proporcionan proteínas completas, ya que tienen alimentos de fuente animal. Sin embargo, la dieta vegana, al excluir todo producto de origen animal, está compuesta de proteínas incompletas (excluyendo el quinoa y la soya). Es importante entonces combinar correctamente los alimentos para obtener proteínas complementarias que provean todos los aminoácidos esenciales.</p>
<p>Por ejemplo: los granos (arroz, maíz, trigo) no tienen el aminoácido esencial lisina, pero sí contienen metionina; mientras que las leguminosas (frijoles, garbanzos, lentejas) contienen lisina, pero no metionina. Al combinar estos alimentos formamos proteínas completas.</p>
